GPS Geocaching is a new and exciting game being played by GPS owners around the world. The only requirement is owning a GPS (global positioning system) device. This will allow you to find all of the cache locations available! So, what is GPS geocaching?

Anyone can start a cache location. A cache location is registered with geocaching.com and the coordinates are then listed for the public. The “owner” of this cache will likely leave a logbook at the location so that all of the visitors can leave their own information for everyone else to read. This may include information about the area, your trip in finding the cache, or silly riddles and jokes. There is no limit. In addition to the logbook, there are usually small treasures to be found.

If you want to become a treasure hunter, then GPS geocaching is perfect for the modern age. You need to enter the coordinates into any of the commercially available GPS devices and begin your search for the cache location. This can be an urban setting, suburban setting, rural setting, on the top of a mountain, or even under the water. It is all about the adventure of the hunt.

It is expected that everyone participating in GPS geocaching be prepared to leave an item at the cache for future adventurers to find. Since you will likely find your own little treasure, it is only right to leave something for someone else. This does not need to be anything expensive, but consider the items you would like to find! Some treasures may include money, books, CD’s, DVD’s, tickets, gift cards, and even small jewelry. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to head out on a GPS geocaching adventure and find a hundred dollar bill inside the logbook?

GPS geocaching can be done by anyone, just as anyone can create a cache for others to find. If you choose to create your own GPS geocaching location, then make sure to register it with geocaching.com so that other people will know where they can search for your hidden treasure.

GPS geocaching is becoming an increasingly popular game. It allows you the thrill of an adventure with an unknown prize at the end. Who could want more in this life than a little adventure?
